Home Modification
Are you living in your own home or shared accommodation, but require some modifications in the house to ensure safety and ease of access? Home modifications may be included in your NDIS plan if:
- You cannot reasonably access and use frequently used rooms and spaces in your home due to your disability;
- Your home has significant and adverse impacts on the sustainability of current living and care arrangements; and
- An Occupational Therapist has assessed your home and recommended equipment and modifications tailored to your specific needs.
Home modifications would be included in the capital budget in your NDIS plan.

Home modifications could include:
Installation of ramps, lifts or stair climbers
Non-slip floor treatments
Widening of doorways, lever taps or hand held shower hoses
Bathroom modifications
Kitchen modifications
Ceiling hoists
